Training and Qualifications
Maxine holds a Bachelor of Psychology Degree from The University of Western Australia and a Master of Psychology Degree from The University of New South Wales. She is also trained as a Psychotherapist
Maxine has specialist training in the following areas:
A sensorimotor approach to Psychotherapy. A psychosomatic approach to traumatized people focusing on both physical as well as psychological manifestations of trauma resulting in a more integrated healing.
EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing.
A treatment for Trauma approved by the Australian Psychological Society.
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy looks for significant events or patterns that contribute to a persons current difficulties emphasizing increasing self understanding and insight into emotional issues.
This understanding can enable new and healthier choices to be made.
CBT. Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
CBT is a relatively short term focused approach to thr treatment of emotional, behavioral and psychological problems. It helps individuals identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and learn healthier skills and habits. Refer to the Australian Association for
